This cake is one of my favorites! It was my second cake with fondant and we were all surprised with the outcome. I made a basic two layered sheet cake, then carved this cool Dora head. After frosting, we covered it with some homemade brown fondant and piped her hair. There were many little details, from the red in her mouth to the whites of her eyes. Overall, everyone, including myself, loved this cake.
But most of all, I know my baby sister Ellie Kate adored her Dora cake! She is a complete Dora fanatic and could not stop smiling. In her opinion it was the best 5 year old birthday cake anyone could have!
