Pirate Party

This cake was for my teacher's nephew. I love it because the only restriction we had was "pirates". So we stacked three layers of blue and tan. On the bottom tier, we added red stripes and some colored balls of fondant. The middle tier mimicked a map, so we made an x and drew a trail that came from the rope border. Our top tier was blue with just some balls on the bottom, but the top of the cake was a cute pirate boy with a treasure chest full of gold sprinkles. They were impressed and thought our little boy looked just like the nephew!
